 Programming endothelial cell identity during development

 Professor Natasha Harvey is Head of the Lymphatic Development Laboratory at the Centre for Cancer Biology, University of South Australia and SA Pathology She received her PhD from the University of Adelaide and undertook postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Guillermo Oliver at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, USA Here, she focussed on defining the role of the homeobox transcription factor PROX 1 in lymphatic vascular development In 2005 she returned to Adelaide to establish her independent research program Natasha’s work aims to understand how the lymphatic vasculature is constructed during development and how this process “goes wrong” in human lymphatic vessel pathologies

 Vascular biology: getting to the heart of the matter

 Professor Claudine Bonder is Head of the Vascular Biology and Cell Trafficking Laboratory at the Centre for Cancer Biology in Adelaide, South Australia Her research interests focus on understanding the blood vasculature in diseases such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes Claudine currently leads a team of 8 grant funded staff/students across a broad program with established academic and commercial collaborators in Australia, the US and Europe Under her leadership, she has filed 6 patents and partnered with multi national companies to develop BIOINVISIBLETM medical devices
