Prof. Jennifer Gamble

The Ageing Endothelium

Professor Jennifer Gamble holds the inaugural Wenkart Chair of the Endothelium, at the Centenary Institute and the University of Sydney. Her early work on the action of TNF and TGF β on the endothelium to regulate neutrophil adhesion, redefined and forms the basis for our understanding of the central role of the endothelium in the induction and resolution of inflammation. Her present interests are in understanding vascular permeability and in the development of potential therapeutics and the consequence of cellular ageing of blood vessels and the impact on organismal ageing, particularly in Alzheimer’s Disease.

 Dr. Renjing Liu

TET2 -a new player in aortic aneurysm pathogenesis

Renjing Liu undertook postdoctoral training at the Yale Stem Cell Center with one of the pioneers in human iPSC research and epigenetics. Receiving the Yale Brown Coxe Fellowship, she then did a second postdoc at the Yale Cardiovascular Research Center where she first identified the role of Tet 2 in vascular diseases. The Liu Lab joined the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in July 2020 where they continue to investigate the role of epigenetics in cardiovascular pathologies.
