The mission of the FH Australasia Network is to prevent early heart attacks in people with inherited high cholesterol by means of: |

- identification, diagnosis and treatment of genetic cholesterol disorders for patients and their affected relatives
- educating patients, health care providers and government agencies
- fostering patient support
- encouraging research to increase understanding and treatment of genetic cholesterol disorders
- promoting public health efforts fostering collaboration between agencies and other health care providers

The FH-Australasia Network is managed by the AAS Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Sub-Committee is a dedicated
team of clinicians and scientists from around Australia and New Zealand. Activities
currently underway include the development of management guidelines,
information sessions for clinicians, and the establishment of various
services around the country. |
